DAVID DASCOMB

Dave Dascomb took an immediate interest in the family vineyard and a passion for wine making. While pursuing his Mechanical Engineering degree at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, he continued to refine his vineyard practices and wine making skills. In 1999, Dave made the decision to produce wine on a commercial level and the East Valley Vineyard label began.

 

Dave marketed his wine under the East Valley Vineyard label until 2008 when he launched his new label, Dascomb Cellars. As each harvest comes to a close, Dave is realizing his dream and vision. It is a common site to find Dave in a conversation with a satisfied customer discussing the details and complexities of grapes and the art of wine making.

 

Dave's vision was to produce premium wine, yet strive to remain a boutique winery...never too large to share the history, vision and passion of fine wines.

Our story

Dascomb Cellars is a family owned and operated boutique winery specializing in hand-crafted wines from the California Central Coast. Planted in 1974, the Estate vineyard, East Valley Vineyard, is home to one of the oldest vineyards in Santa Barbara County.

Exceptional wine is achieved through established farming practices, patience at harvest, old-world cellar practices and a passion for the art of wine making!

WINE CLUB

Our wine club offers exceptional savings and purchasing convenience, and provides our most dedicated customers every chance to enjoy our limited release wines.

 

By joining the New Release Program, you will receive the following:

 

  • Dascomb Cellars’ wine delivered to you on a regular basis.  All shipment selections are selected by the winemaker.
  • 25% discount on all wine club shipments and any additional purchased wines.
  • No tasting fees for member and up to 3 guests while visiting the Dascomb Cellars Tasting room during normal operating hours.  Wine club member must be present at time of tasting.  Also club member and one guest receive complimentary entry to all wine club parties.
  • Shipping fees are only one cent per shipment (minimum 3 bottles per shipment)!  This includes your wine club shipments as well as any additional purchases you may make and ship to any state in the continental US (state shipping laws do apply).
  • Receive 12 bottles in a year.
  • Silver Club and Ruby Club ship four times per year (quarterly), Gold Club and Garnet Club ship twice a year (semi-annually).
  • Personal tasting notes and technical information provided by the winemaker.
  • Access to library wines and exclusive wines that are only available to members.

Wine Club Terms and Conditions

The Dascomb Cellars Wine Club was developed to bring our wine directly to you.  We take pride in our wines and excited to share our passion with you.  Below you will find the terms and conditions of our club.  Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions (wineclub@dascombcellars.com).  As a member you have agreed to all terms and conditions of membership.  Benefits, terms and conditions are subject to change.

By becoming a member you verify that you or the recipient of the club is at least 21 years of age.

  • Silver & Ruby Memberships:  You authorize Dascomb Cellars to charge your credit card four (4) times per year (approximately February, April, September, November) for a minimum of four (4) club shipments.
  • Gold & Garnet Memberships:  You authorize Dascomb Cellars to charge your credit card two (2) times per year (April & October) for a minimum of two (2) club shipments.

We want you to experience Dascomb Cellars wines at their optimal condition, and we will wait to ship when the weather permits; therefore, shipment dates are subject to change in the event of poor weather.

Club wines are allocated based on club tier and time of year and cannot be changed or exchanged. However you are welcome to add other wines to your club shipment using your discount.  To ensure your additional purchases are included with your club shipment, please be sure you place the order prior to the club selection being processed.

Dascomb Cellars has a very strict privacy policy and all credit information will be kept confidential. Our membership list will never be sold, disclosed or traded.

Billing

All club members must maintain a minimum of two (2) active credit cards at all times.  The club releases will be charged to the primary credit card on file approximately 10 days prior to the shipment.  It is your obligation to update your credit card information via our website at DascombCellars.com, email (wineclub@dascombcellars.com) or by phone (805-691-9175).  In the event the primary card we have on file does not successfully process, the second card on file will automatically be charged.  Club wine purchases, tax and shipping are non-refundable once they have been processed.

Shipping

Shipments are handled by UPS (United Parcel Service) or GSO (Golden State Overnight) and cannot be delivered to PO, FPO, APO or IPO boxes.  Dascomb Cellars will only ship where it is not prohibited by law.

Dascomb Cellars is not responsible for shipping charges incurred due to misdirected or returned shipments or changes made after the deadline. If a club shipment is returned for an incorrect address or failed delivery attempts the club member will be responsible for the returned shipment fees as well as the additional cost to reship.  You do have the option to have your package held for pick up. In either case, we will notify you of the return and we will hold your wine for a maximum period of 90 days.  After 90 days all wine not claimed will be considered abandoned and donated to local charities.

Club Release Pick Ups

Due to space constraints at the tasting room, picking up your club release is available on a limited basis and to a limited number of members.

Will-call members are required to pick up their club wines within 30 days of billing. If you are unable to pick up in that time frame you must call 805-691-9175 or email wineclub@dascombcellars.com to make other arrangements prior to the 30 day requirement. If a club release is not picked up within the 30 day period, and no prior arrangements have been made, the wines will be packed and shipped the following week to the shipping address on file for an additional charge.

Wine club releases not picked up or claimed after a period of 90 days will be considered abandoned and donated to local charities.

Changes & Cancellations

It is the wine club member's responsibility to notify Dascomb Cellars of changes to their credit cards, desire to cancel, address changes, phone, etc. Any changes involving your membership information must be made in writing by contacting wineclub@dascombcellars.com.

Cancellation Policy:  Wine Club members may cancel their membership any time after receiving the minimum number of shipments as outlined below. There will not be any cancellations accepted within 15 days of an upcoming club shipment date.  Cancellation requests outside of the terms below will result in a $50 cancellation fee.

  • Silver & Ruby Memberships:  Once four (4) shipments have been taken, you may cancel the club with a 15 day written notice to wineclub@dascombcellars.com.  If the 15 day cancellation period occurs during a scheduled club month, that shipment will be processed and shipped as your final. All wine purchases, tax and shipping are non-refundable after processing and early cancellations will result in a $50 cancellation fee.
  • Gold & Garnet Memberships:  Once two shipments (2) have been taken, you may cancel the club with a 15 day written notice to wineclub@dascombcellars.com.  If the 15 day cancellation period occurs during a scheduled club month (April & October), that shipment will be processed and shipped as your final. All wine purchases, tax and shipping are non-refundable after processing and early cancellations will result in a $50 cancellation fee

Sharing Your Club Benefits

Club benefits are exclusive to the person named on the account.  However, tasting benefits are available for up to four people including the member who must be present at the time of the tasting.  Due to system constraints we are only able to have one name and one corresponding email on the membership.  Benefits are not transferable outside of the member’s household.

Delivery Policies

Wine sold to you is sold in California and title passes to you, the buyer, in California. For shipping to a state other than California, please contact our tasting room.  By placing an order, you authorize us to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to your selected destination. You must be 21 years or older to purchase wine. By placing your order, you certify under penalty of perjury that you and the recipient are at least 21 years old.

 

Return and Credit Card Refund Policies

Dascomb Cellars guarantees the highest quality of all our wines.  If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, please let us know within 30 days of purchase for possible replacement.  Dascomb Cellars does not offer refunds on any wine or food.
